CPR competency is critical to victim survival.  Skills testing ensures consistent testing and learning. 

HeartCode BLS is the AHA's BLS blended learning delivery method.  Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on skills session.  After practice, students must demonstrate competency without any assistance, hints or prompting.

 Prior to taking this course the following must be met:

  • Purchase the on-line HeartCode BLS course through the following site: HeartCode® BLS | AHA
  • Complete the on-line HeartCode BLS course.
  • Print your certificate of completion and bring it with you to the skills exam. 

Students must successfully pass these skills tests by being evaluated once in each role:

  • 1- and 2-Rescuer Adult BLS with AED
  • 1- and 2-Rescuer Infant BLS 

 Upon successful completion of the skills exam:

  • You will be emailed a BLS Provider Card

Payment in full is required at the time on initial registration to reserve a place in the class.

 

Cancellation and Refund Information 

Cancellations must be requested by the student and submitted in writing. 

If you are more than 10 minutes late without notification, you will need to reschedule.

There is a 10% fee charged on all class cancellations. 

There is no refund for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the class start date. 

There is no refund for opened course materials.  There is a 10% restocking fee on returned books.  Any unopened materials must be returned within 7 business days of cancellation to be eligible for a refund.

If Southern Region cancels the class a full refund will be issued (less any applicable course materials). 

There are no fees incurred if the class is rescheduled for another date.

 

The American Heart Association® strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS and PALS and has developed the instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association® and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.

Payment in full is required at the time of initial registration to reserve a place in the class.

Southern Region EMS Council reserves the right to cancel a class if enrollment is less than the course minimum. A full refund will be issued less the cost of any opened course books.

There is a 10% fee on all cancellations. There is no refund for registrations cancelled within 7 days of class start date.

To receive a refund on UNOPENED course books they must be returned within 7 business days from cancellation.

If cancelled before Heartcode Complete license is issued, there will be a 10% cancellation fee. If Heartcode Complete license has been issued no refund will be given.

All cancellation requests must be in writing from the student enrolled in the course and submitted to registration@sremsc.org with a subject title of "STUDENT CANCELLATION".
